Overview of Samarth Program

Launched in November 2019 in collaboration with the National Health Mission, Samarth – “Empowering ASHA” aims to strengthen the role of ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers by enhancing their skills and capacity. The program focuses on bridging community health gaps and improving access to developmental services by empowering ASHAs—trained female community health workers selected from and accountable to their own communities. Recognizing challenges such as low educational levels and limited communication skills among ASHAs, the Samarth initiative provides targeted training and support to improve their effectiveness.
